Needing a no-touch Thermometer, I spent a long time trawling through Amazon and Pharmacy websites looking for a basic, reliable device. Unfortunately everywhere is awash with pop-up brands and new to market Thermometers, all with mixed reviews from both genuine buyers and questionable paid-for/incetivised accounts. I ended up taking a stab in the dark on this after seeing the same product on the Lloyds Pharmacy website, although at a higher price. Even though it didn't have reviews on the Lloyds website at the time of purchase, I put my faith in them having tested the product themselves before stocking it. At the time of purchase this was reduced to £27.88 and there was no other recognised brands available anywhere online for delivery, to purchase at a reasonable price. I've used this Thermometer dozens of times since purchase and it's been consistently accurate. My reason for assurance of it's accuracy is that we've had; paramedics and doctors visit the person I care for, together with hospital/GP appointments to attend on numerous occasions since. Each time they have checked his temperature on their devices, it has been no more 0.1 different to the readings on this but most of the time the exact same.

I don't know if this is a symptom of all infrared thermometers, but this device is constantly about 1c off my in-ear and old-school under the tongue thermometer. This could be extremely dangerous when it comes to using on a baby or young child. I am not sure why anyone would opt to use this technology when it clearly doesn't work properly? Perhaps if you're happy with an inaccurate reading, then sure - but then - what is the point? It's the second infrared thermometer I've owned and both have been inaccurate like this; so I have to conclude these are just not fit for purpose. Do yourselves a favour and buy an in-ear thermometer. Yes, this looks pretty, but what's the point if it's not accurate?

The device is small, portable, and very easy to handle and gives very quick readings and that is great. The problem I have is with inconsistent correct values that is producing comparing with two other measuring devices that produce identical correct values. Sometimes it is giving accurate readings but sometimes there is a point three to one degree difference which is a lot and also, produces different values in subsequent readings and that makes me not trusting the device which should be the whole point of it.

Allerdings schwanken die Messergebnisse sehr stark abhängig von der gemessenen Stelle , dass ist aber ein normales Verhalten. The good: it works. The readings are consistent. Some people complained they are inaccurate – well, I can’t say whether they are or aren’t, but they are consistent when I try a few times. Which sometimes I have to do, because it requires very specific distance from the skin in a very specific spot. The vibrating is very handy. When I had Covid I would check my temperature and honestly had no energy to drag myself to the mirror, so I would just sort of hover it around the spot until the thermometer vibrated and I knew that was it. No clue how long the battery last, but so far it looks like the answer is ‘forever’. If I didn’t sometimes have to try up to eight times it would be an instant 5*.
