Being Old School, I've always used under-tongue thermometers. But now I'm in my 50s, reading small numbers through glass isn't always easy, especially not in the middle of the night with a sick child. So, with some trepidation, I ordered this. I haven't yet had a chance to try it out with anyone who wasn't healthy but so far, so good. In fact, it makes me wonder why I didn't order an in-ear thermometer YEARs ago. Someone else mentioned that the probe is on the large side compared to others, but it fits well into the ears of my preteen and newly-teen children. I don't have too much to add to what other reviewers have written. I guess something that I would wish to stress is how handy the three-light (green, amber and red) is for me. As mentioned, my eyes aren't always great at reading (esp if I've misplaced my reading glasses... happens more often than I'd like to admit) so if I'm worried about someone possibly being ill, just seeing a green light to tell me that they're fine, or a red light to tell me that I should think about calling a doctor, is a truly useful feature. It comes with disposable ear-probe covers but I have just re-used them, giving them a good wipe with alcohol swabs after each use. No point in adding to the landfill when they can perform their duty multiple times. It would be nice if this thermometer were usb-charged, rather than using batteries. But that is not a critique... just a suggestion for the manufacturer to consider in the future.

Over used one of these before as I've always used a more traditional method. I was a bit apprehensive at first but its incredibly straight forward and seems to be very accurate. Pop it in ear, press button and you have a result. Its built well and comes nicely packaged. Decent bit of kit, would reccomend.

This is a bit bulkier than my other one but I like the fact it has its own 'stand ' . Coming with extra ear cones is good but you can use without as I did . I just wipe around the piece with isopropyl after . Quick to register and from what I can tell its accurate . May be a tad big for very small children as we are ( apart from visiting grandchildren ) an adult family You do have to press quite hard to get it back in its stand but think this is an all round good digital thermometer

This is a thermometer like many others available on the market. First of all, it is very easy to use. It shows the temperature as a number on a colored, so you can tell what and how by the colours. The replaceable sleeves are easy to replace, and most importantly, they are easy to buy. It responds by making a sound signal when the temperature is measured and is ready to be read. The accuracy seems to be very good. I measured the temperature with an old thermometer, and the readings were very close. It takes only a few seconds to save the temperature. Everything works, and the thermometer itself is nice and well-made. Overall, it is a good value for money, so it is a product worth recommending.
